Good Handlebar for Bike Commuting
The Velo Orange Crazy Bars are one of the wackiest handlebars on the face of the earth, but they're so crazy, they work. They're essentially a swept back alt bar with bullhorn extensions stuck to it, the mullet of handlebars: business in the middle, party at the ends. They're a surprisingly good handlebar for bike commuting.

Should You Build Your Dream Bike?
Переглядів 13 тис.14 днів тому
It can be easy to get caught up in the bike rat race and constantly upgrade your bike and buy more bikes in search of the perfect bike. After years of upgrading my bike, I finally have my dream bike. While there are merits to owning your dream bike, there's also a lot of drawbacks I've found. And just because a bike is your dream bike doesn't mean the reality of owning it will how you think. Biking in California: Expectation vs Reality

A lot of people have this idea that biking in California is a dream with great bike infrastructure, chill drivers, and seaside views. I've lived and biked in California for most of my life. The Case for Alt Bars
Переглядів 6 тис.Місяць тому
Drop bars and risers are the standard handlebars, but they're not great for everyone. That's where alt bars come in. Alt bars exist because they solve problems with bike fit, are better for different riding styles that aren't strictly road or mountain biking, and are just plain fun. If you're not a competitive cyclist, alt bars can reinvigorate your love of cycling. Here's the case for alt bars...

Plastic Sports Bottles Suck!

Plastic sports bottles are everywhere because they're so useful: they're inexpensive, lightweight, and give you water while you're doing things. Carbon Fiber for Daily Cyclists
Переглядів 10 тис.2 місяці тому
Carbon fiber is the most amazing bike material. Bike builders can finely tailor the way a carbon fiber bike rides. They can be stiff when putting power through the pedals yet compliant enough to dampen a road vibrations and be comfortable for hours in the saddle, all while being the lightest material to available to make a bike out of. But carbon fiber has one fatal flaw, especially for daily n...

Finally Cleaning Out My Bike Parts Bin
Переглядів 8 тис.2 місяці тому
The bike parts bin: we all have one. They contain everything from popped tubes, spare parts we'll actually use again, handlebars we forgot we had, treasures of vintage made in USA stems, and rusty chains that we'll maybe someday need the extra links for something...? While the bike parts bin is useful, the problem is all of this stuff mixes together and becomes forgotten junk in our minds. Toda...
Continental Grand Prix 5000 S: 1000 Mile Review

The Continental Grand Prix 5000 S is towards the top of many cyclists' lists for being the best road bike tire. It's one of the fastest (if not THE fastest) tires I've ever ridden, it's supremely supple and comfortable, flat resistant, and confidence inspiring in the corners. Yes, the GP 5000's live up to the hype, but I will probably never buy them again. Wabi Cycles - The bike that's so good,...

what is your crankset or chainring?
😂 😂😂😂 the poping up from the bottom of the camera is great chit.
I`m currently riding a belt drive singlespeed Soma Wolverine with Jones H-Bar and a front rack, and it`s sooo upright and comfortable.
Good stuff Zach!
This sounds more like a personal experience rather then a practical reason: there is no reason you couldn’t have swerved on a bike with brakes, and the argument that having brakes means you will only use them instead of swerving is a user error (not the bikes fault.) hopefully you’ve since improved with your bike skills: but no rational person gets involved in a serious crash - due to not maintaining a safe distance between themselves and the car - to then blame the “bike having brakes” being the issue.
Bring this series back!
0:28 What's that metal water bottle?
Lots of cameras and open carry Stand your ground when threatened with a deadly weapon like a pickup truck..
I know that you're running fixed, but have you seen a moustache handlebar with bar end brake levers (inverted)? Simply amazing!
You look like a snack in this vid
“what do you mean” 😭😭
Don’t buy retrospec
I bought the Hiplok D1000 and it's definitely a heavy beefy D lock but it's diamond rated being the best you can get at £250, but I also want to get the heaviest chain lock I can find too. I have a full suspension e mountain bike so I can't put the D lock through the wheel and frame but I'm going to use the chain locks for that
Funky tunes in this one, nice!
your use of shekels is a little dicey my asian friend.
Just got a Kilo tt Stripper, does anybody have insight on servicing the hub bearings? Cone wrench sizes, any other useful tips/tricks to help make the job go smoothly before i start? & Who has increased their tire size, is what he's saying legit? Mine came with 25s but I'd like at least 28s if not 32s?
Great video as always, although I am always doubtful of companies using ai imagery (State Bike Co.) in their promotional material. If they cut corners on simple things like that where else do they?
@zachgallardo sir your straps are clearly on wrong. I’ve been using straps since 2010. Just a heads up. You need to build up your experience points. lol
This comparing is just stupid ! You have to know the purpose of the Chain
Just got my Wabi yesterday. My first proper fixed. The previous owner was riding the freestyle side and the lock ring was not tightened down. WHY!??? Splines have been a thing forever. WHY is this not the standard. Zach, you should totally work with Wabi on a splined system and leverage your experience bringing a bike to market. Sacratomato in the house yo!!! Big ups Homeboy!!!
I’m a masher, thinking of building a 52 or 53 tooth and maybe 15 rear.
Of course it’s faster

Surly makes some crazy bars too.
Omg u think they race carbon fiber instead of steel for making money. Lmao u got the wrong chicken or the egg argument here. Road bikes started with steel transitioned to aluminum then went to carbon. U can make a steel frame as aero as carbon nor as light. You cant make an aluminum frame as light as well. Its about technological advancements. I still love your channel but u are really coming off as a hipster/purist here.
I'm a mtb enthusiast who rides fixed to make street riding and commuting fun. Carbon fiber is very strong and it is stronger than steel and aluminum frames. Everything you say about carbon frames is the same for aluminum. I would say don't ride carbon if you intend to keep the same bike for 10 plus years. Steel on the other hand I have seen people bend frames especially with crmo hardtails which could cause a crash too. Carbon is also more comfortable than steel imo If it is engineered to flex and have some give too it. It is much quieter too so it's a give and take. I feel like fixed gear riders just hate on it because they are very purist. I will upgrade my fixed gear bike with carbon wheels and a hydraulic front disc brake because they are such a nice feeling upgrade.
I give you a few more years before you’re in the Rivendell camp. Y’all heard it here first.
Not a bad idea but just waaaaaay too wide.
Been riding spds on my fixed, mostly ride really aggressive tracklocross stuff with lots of single track, mud and bunny hopping. This lead me to develope a tailors bunion on my rear foot and braking fucking hurts now. Might try straps but I’m sure it would feel like a huge downgrade. Take care of your feet.
Accidents are never *completely* one party's fault, but a confluence of many. The road design, the time of day, the driver's distracted, the cyclist expecting to be seen, but not actually because they didn't wear bright enough clothing, or going faster than a typical cyclist is expected to. Just some examples. All parties need to invest in better safety. 1. Speed cameras to catch & discourage wreckless driving. 2. Better cycling infrastructure, dedicated lanes, or wide shoulders. 3. Cyclists also riding as if they're invisible, not expecting drivers to pay attention & see them. As both a driver & cyclist, I know how hard it is sometimes to see cyclists, we're used to seeing large vehicles as a driver. It's just unrealistic to expect drivers to do better given the crappy infrastructure.
I’m a drop bar commuter/bike delivery guy. Drops the way to go. If you get a wide enough bar you will have every hand position you could ever want. This is coming from a guy that has spent at least 300-400 for the Extra handlebars and still rides the stock wines😊
The daily riders need the weekend warriors so we can pick up their used, almost pristine bikes for cheap.
Colossi bikes are really common here in Asia actually
for when you aren't getting steebed enough when you stack on the handle barz
this has been my set up for the whole time. flat bar with bar ends in the middle.
Smart
@12:58 u left your camera
I have the Seine bars and put separate horns on them so i can place them at the right width for me. Me likey. Great video thanks!
Aw she's cute
Been doing this for years with barends by moving them them inbord , turn your favourite flat bars in to a decent crazy bar without the crazy price people
Build your dream bike when you've reached a level of stability that protects that investment. I prided myself building my used wabi classic to a dream bike, $3000 in upgrades, while taking my eye off the basics (opening my white mail, DMV, legal notices etc) including keeping my hustle vibrant. Now, along with my minimalist but high quality wardrobe, my dream bike and belongings are sitting in my now-police-impounded jeep in a redneck town and are gone. Point: if youre couch-surfing, in-between jobs... The sugino chainring can wait. Now I ride a donated derailer bike, it's mid-shelf... But I'd rather be seen on the bus compared to my old dream bike. Onward. 👍
Got two ftps now I want a Fuji track elite with zipp808 and disc 😭
Gets breaker bar
How do these compare to the albastache?
Then u have me dumping sealant into my giant mtb tires, seating bead with a floor pump & subsequently not touching them again for 5 months 😂
for me big ratio is for training not for everyday use at least its not so big you can actually get use to it, that s why is better to have more than one bike, you can go really big i mean big like 60/12 after all that that bike would be for training.
Can u buy tsunami snm100 frame and ride it and rate it
Now they just need to add a "drop" and they've pretty much got all the positions!
"Seine" is the name of the river crossing Paris. It's pretty curvy, maybe that's why they choose that name.
"...have a little bit of fun opening up your chest...") 😊
